Game #45
The Marlin’s lineup beats up on King Cole in the series opener on Tuesday night in Florida. Uggla, Ramirez, Willingham and Wood all double off Hamles who pitched 6 innings giving up 5 earned runs while walking 3 and striking out 8. Lost in the outing is Scott Olsen’s 4th win. Olsen pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 walks and 3 earned runs while striking out 6. The story early in the game was Werth hitting a home run in the 1st and a two run homer in the 3rd giving the Phillies a 3 run lead after 3. Late and often the doubles came as the Marlins scored 4 in the sixth. Pinto and Lindstrom would come on to pitch in the 7th and 8th innings to hold the lead before the pen gave way to Gregg for his 4th save of the year. Gregg struck out 1 of the batters he faced and has 27 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched this year. Kevin Gregg has looked stellar in his last few outings as the Marlins’ new closer.
SO much fun to beat the Phils!!!
You’re right.
